When we are faced with challenge and stress where we become overwhelmed our autonomic nervous system is activated into a fight-flight response. For good reason, our fight/flight saved our ancestors when they were confronted with a sabre tooth tiger. In today's world we are continually confronted with 'paper tigers' and our nervous system reacts in the same way. We get chronically stuck in fight/flight mode which is extremely bad for us and we experience stress.
When we try and think our feelings under control it is ineffective. By understanding the neuroscience and behavioural psychology of chronic stress and using scientifically proven interventions we can calm ourselves. These techniques are effective in the moment and also help us develop resilience to reactivity when we experience acute and chronic stress. We can manage our feelings to develop resilience and self-mastery.
Most interventions attempt to improve results through employees behaviour and thinking – and are destined to fail. To understand human performance, we need to explore what is going on at a feeling, emotional and physiological levels.
I offer one-to-one and group education sessions. Participants have an opportunity to learn about the neuroscience and physiological responses to stress, to change behaviours and develop lasting resilience and self-mastery. Sessions are tailored to the client ne
